What is Annual License Pricing?

Qualifying for an Annual License on an approved project means that we as a company have a high degree of confidence that your project will be financed, produced and distributed and are willing to take a calculated risk on you as a Producer and Content Creator. Qualified Projects will only be required to pay a percentage of the total Annual Subscription Fee, typically around 40-50%, with the option of paying it annually for maximum savings or by breaking it up into heavily discounted monthly payments.

Who pays the balance of the fee?

If and when your project gets financed, we will then ask for the remaining balance to be paid from your then fully funded production budget plus a 10% Surcharge for taking the risk with you. This is a “development” line item you can add to your production budget, making the your entire development expense 100% recoupable upon funding.

If your project never gets financed, you never have to pay the balance. Period. That’s how much we believe in qualified projects.

If your project has already been funded and shot, and you are utilizing our Subscriptions for Production or Promotion, the balance would only come due when the project is sold or distributed. It’s that simple. We believe in the power of storytelling and Indie Producers and want to do everything we can to develop packaging and providing services that put you in the best possible position for success.

Turnaround time depends on multiple factors, including the type and complexity of the request, the details of the Project Request, the number of revisions needed, and the timeliness of your approvals. For example, on average you can expect to receive your LIVEDECK within 2-3 weeks provided we receive what we need quickly, communication lines are open, and client feedback is provided in a timely manner.

On average, each Project, regardless of Subscription Plan or Tier, takes a minimum of two weeks to a maximum of up to 24 weeks, depending on the complexity and deliverables of the plan.

Have a tight deadline? No problem, we will work closely with you on any specific deadline you may have. If the deadline is within reason and we have the team in place to accommodate it will remain within your set Subscription Fee. If it is a request that needs to happen the same day, next day or some time frame that requires a larger team to be in place, then, and only then, will we require an expedited fee from you. Transparency is key, we will never invoice you for a hidden fee. All fees are required to be approved by you prior to the request becoming active.

We live and die by data. Any asset you have already created, whether you like it or not, is a great thing for us to have. Our Project Upload process accepts ANY format so you don’t have to worry about that. Our PROJECT REQUEST from is simple, easy to use and will guides you through exactly what we need to begin.

We have discovered that often a Film, Series, or Digital Project can get accelerated by funding or greenlighting of a project you are working on at a moments notice. Or you may decide to switch gears and focus on another project with more relevance or salability. Life, happens, and business moves forward. So when you find yourself in a similar position you can simply cancel your subscription and we will stop your billing cycle for the following month until you decide to start up another subscription in the future. There are no subscription contracts at LightChaser so you will never get stuck paying for something you don’t need.

Any completed Project Request that has been delivered to you is yours and we will hold on to any open requests for you until you are ready to resume, or not. The choice is yours.

That is why if you decide to cancel your subscription within 7 days of starting it, no matter the reason, we will fully refund your initial payment, no questions asked.

Premium Services are services that typically require custom quotes as they are almost always jobs that have multiple factors involved. Things like certain shooting or production services, for example, rely on budgets, casting, crew, locations, and other production type details that we need to know from you first in order to accurately quote them.

We can add a Premium Services to any of your Subscription Plans on an as needed basis. Additionally, each Subscription Plan provides free “Premium Points” each month, depending on the plan, that can add up and be redeemed toward Premium Services fees if and when you need them.

Premium Points work much like Airline Miles or Credit Card Rewards Points. Every $5 you spend each month on a Subscription Plan with us equals 1 Premium Point you can use toward any Premium Service offered in that Plan, regardless of Tier. They rollover each month and are redeemable toward any Premium Service we offer for as long as you maintain a Subscription Plan.

Example: A Tier 1 Quarterly Pitch Plan over the course of 12 months (4 Billing Cycles) would accrue approximately 4788 PREMIUM POINTS. Say you need a Sizzle promo edited and a Cast Photoshoot done on your film and it costs around $5,000. You could apply your accrued points for that year and essentially get those Premium Services for free and have points left over!

Not only do the Premium Points rollover each month, they roll over each year for up to 3 years! This can lead to steep discounts on premium services. Our reward to you for client loyalty.

Clients who cancel their Subscription for any reason, unless they are eligible to “pause” it, will lose all their accrued premium points.

Being eligible to “Pause” your Subscription requires a commitment from you to “Resume” a Subscription Plan of equal or greater value within a set, pre-determined time-frame.

Example, say you are working on a project with us but get called to produce or work on another gig for 6 months before you can come back to it. Lets us know your timeframe and if it is within 6 months of your cancellation date and you agree to our billing terms of services to re-activate or renew your subscription plan, you will receive eligibility status to “Pause” your Subscription.

That means you won’t lose any Premium Points you have accrued and can essentially pick up where you left off. We will archive all work completed and it will be ready for you like you never left.
